STRUCTURE

4 Modules Available

Module 1

Lab 1

  • Basic commands on Cisco routers/switches, about different modes, setting passwords telnet.
  • ENABLE MODE: sh flash, sh version, sh ip interfaces brief, ping, traceroute etc
  • PREVILAGE MODE: Complete monitoring commands, all show commands, copy erase commands.
  • GLOBAL CONFIG MODE: Assigning hostname, line vty, ttelnet, aux password, login banner etc

LAB 2

  • ASSIGN IP ADDRESS AND VERIFY: both serial and Fast Ethernet

LAB 3

  • STATIC ROUTING, DEFAULT ROUTE: Assign IP address, and enable static routing and verify end to end connectivity
  • Assign and verify default route

LAB 4

  • DYNAMIC ROUTING USING RIPV2:

Prerequisites:

  • make sure of the physical connectivity
  • assign IP address to all interface
  • make sure all interfaces are up
  • Assign IP addresses to the interfaces, enable rip and fine-tune rip parameters(timers), verify routing table, summarization etc.

Module 2

LAB 5

  • DYNAMIC ROUTING USING EIGRP:

Prerequisites :

  • make sure of the physical connectivity
  • assign ip address to all interfaces
  • make sure all interfaces are up
  • Configure EIGRP 100 , verify routing table and connectivity/reachability between LAN(use ping,tracroute)

LAB 6

  • DYNAMIC ROUTING USING OSPF:

Prerequisites :

  • make sure of the physical connectivity
  • assign ip address to all interfaces
  • make sure all interfaces are up
  • Configure OSPF single area , verify routing table and connectivity/reachablility Between LAN(use ping,tracroute)

 

LAB 7

  • configure OSPF multiple area , verify routing table and connectivity/reachablility Between LAN(use ping,tracroute)

LAB 8

  • VERIFY VLAN: Create vlan 20 , assign 2 interfaces to vlan 20 , verify connectivity between two host connected at those two interfaces

LAB 9

  • CREATING BASIC VLAN CONFIG ON SWITCH: 1. Create muliple vlans (20 , 30 , 40, 50 ,60) ,assign SINGLE inf to vlan 20
    2.  Assign muliple interfaces to vlan 30 using interface range command .

Module 3

LAB 10

  • TRUNKING: 1. Create vlan 10 , 20 on both switches sw1 & sw2 2.assign interfaces to vlans on both the switches sw1 & sw2
    3. connect fa0/20 on both the switches with each other and configure them as trunk port
    4.verify that users on same vlans can comunicate with each other on different switches

LAB 11

  • VERIFY DTP: Configure a trunk port between 2 switches , make changes to the trank port modes (auto , desirable nonnegotiate, trunk modes ) verify the results

LAB 12

  • INTER VLAN ROUTING USING LEGACY METHOD: Create vlan 10, 20 assign ports to each vlans , make sure there is connectivity between ports from different vlans

LAB 13

  • INTER VLAN ROUTER USING SUB INTERFACES (router on a stick): Create vlan 10, 20 assign ports to each vlans , make sure there is connectivity between ports from different vlans

LAB 14

  • INTERVLAN ROUTING USING SVI(SWITCH VIRTUAL INTERFACE): Create vlan 10, 20 assign ports to each vlans, make sure there is connectivity between ports from different vlans. create int vlan 10 , int vlan 20 one interface for each vlan (for instance) , and enable
  • IP ROUTING IN GLOBAL CONFIG MODE

LAB 15

  • NATIVE LAN: 1. Configure trunk port between 2 switchs, create vlans and assign port to each vlan on both switches. 2. Change native vlan to vlan 999 any vlan other than vlan 1(which is default native vlan)

 

Module 4

LAB 16

  • VTP: 1. Configure trunks between switches, enable vtp mode server, client, and transparent on each switch.
    2. Configure vlans on server switch, verfiy it on client and transparent switch
    3. Configure vlans on transparent switch and verify on client and server switch.

LAB 17

  • SPANNING TREE: 1. Verify stp using show spanning tree commands.
    2. Shut down one of the root ports and verify stp convergence.
    3. Change the mac address/priority to influence root bridge selection
    4. Configure and verify various stp features (portfast,backbonefast,bpdu-guard etc)

LAB 18

  • ETHER-CHANNEL: 1. Connect any 2 ports of sw1 with any 2 ports of sw2 , create ether-channel.
    2. Configure ether-channel either as trunk or access port, manage allowed vlans in case of trunk port
    3. Repeat the same config for LACP / PAGP protocols
